Pataki is the official remake of Telugu hit movie Pataas. The original flick starred Nandamuri Kalyan Ram in the lead role which gave him a huge break to make his re-entry to Tollywood. Touted to an ultimate action entertainer, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram played a bold Police Officer in the movie. Coming back to Pataki, the filmmakers have released the first look poster of Ganesh. For the first time, Ganesh will be playing a cop role in the movie. Will he impress his fans playing a cop role? For this we will have to wait for the movie to go on the floors.

A historical marker along the path piqued Pataki’s interest in Peggy Shippen Arnold. She found out that Shippen had a past romance with the British spy John André, who was Benedict Arnold’s coconspirator. Shippen was the third integral character in the plot, “a charming young woman who not only contributed to the betrayal, but orchestrated it,” Pataki claimed.

At a lunch in honor of Pataki on Friday at the Modern, her staunchest supporters turned out, including her father, former New York Gov. George Pataki. “I’m just so proud of her,” he said. “She worked hard her entire life. She’s passionate about writing. We lived in the midst of where it happened.”

Harvey Weinstein, cochairman of The Weinstein Company, said, “I read the book and loved it. The governor is a great friend. Many people see me as a Democrat, and I am. I took the governor [when he was in office] and introduced him to Hollywood, to Sydney Pollack and Warren Beatty. He was embraced by Hollywood because he spoke as a pragmatist. I hope he reemerges in politics.” But don’t count on it. The governor said that these days he’s “working with a great law firm and having a ball.”

Asked if he wants to option the book, Weinstein said, “I’m here as a family friend. I want Allison to make her own decision. Katie [Holmes, who was standing across the room], would be great in the roll of Peggy Shippen. I’d like to make that happen.”

Asked whether she’d like to play the cunning Mrs. Arnold, Holmes said, “Definitely.” She just finished the movie “The Giver,” which is opening in August. “It’s based on a beloved book,” Holmes said. “It’s a beautiful story about a young boy breaking out. I worked with Meryl [Streep] and Jeff Bridges.”

In “Miss Meadows,” which will be shown at the Tribeca Film Festival, Holmes plays a prim substitute teacher who is also a vigilante. “It’s a quirky little comedy,” she said. Holmes is also shooting a pilot for ABC TV with Taylor Hackford based on “Dangerous Liaisons.”

Allison Pataki told the assembled crowd — which included Tina Brown, Desiree Gruber and producer Jean Doumanian — that “The book is doing better than I could have ever imagined. I’m grateful to friends and family who came forward to support me. We’re turning to the movie side. Katie, you could play Peggy. Harvey, I don’t know if you have anything going on.”


Pataki is already working on her next historical novel, which is about the Hapsburg Empire. “Universal is very interested” in the film rights, she said.

                        Ghayal Once AMovie History-2016: 
   I am reeling. Sunny Deol’s dhai kilo ka haath hit me so many times on my head that I am now numb and have tinnitus like the villain does in the climax when the hand comes down on him.

                                 So, Mr. Ghayal returns as a crusader against injustice. He and his other pals from jail now run a newspaper that exposes all sorts of scandals. He also suffers from a neurological problem that makes him clutch his head in acute pain every time he remembers the past. So much so, that he needs a pretty young doctor who looks like Soha Ali Khan to be at his side every time the head clutching happens to pass him some pink pills and say “Paani pee lo” in a tender voice. Anyway, his old pal Joe Fernandes who is now a retired cop gets shot at by an industrialist, Bansal’s son and a gang of four teenagers who were filming some patently fraud looking birds in Karnala bird sanctuary inadvertently capture the murder on their camera. They try to take it to our man but are caught by Bansal and then all dishoom dishoom, rona dhona, char chases, gunshots, screaming and all happen till the movie ends. You can’t even nod off because the movie is so loud.

                                Sunny Deol is still stuck in the 80s style of movie making with exaggerations at every turn, be it violent or emotional. Of course, it also has to do with the fact that the man still cannot act. So, he needs these visual cues swirling around his head. When the sad images swirl around he grimaces, swings his head in agony and sad music plays. Happy image arrives he smiles and happy music plays. See? It gets easy when someone helps you. And even the audience is left in no doubt that the emotion he is expressing is happiness, sadness or anger.

                            All the characters shout and scream till they are about to burst multiple blood vessels. In the climax, his newfound daughter is on a rooftop in a wheel chair and he is fighting all the goons to save her. At that point she irritatingly keeps screaming “Papa Papa” making him look gooey eyed at her while fending off the baddies. The whiny “Papa” gets so bugging after a point that if I could I would have pushed her off the building  myself, wheel chair and all.

 T                          here are all kinds of logical errors and loopholes and I won’t bother with all of them. But I do really really want to know how he managed to hijack Bansal’s helicopter. The movie is really actually one long car chase. The chases are so long and dreary that you can take a loo break, chai break etc and still come back to find everyone chasing everyone else.

                             The cast has Om Puri as Joe Fernandes dying early, which is a good thing, as I can no longer see anything but his nose. There is the simpering Bansal family with a Dadi, a stupid kid and Tisca Chopra wasted as the wife. Abhilash Kumar plays the spoilt son who shot Fernandes because of whom everyone goes mad trying to protect or destroy an orange coloured HD. For such an important role all he has to help him is a fancy hairstyle and red huge earphones. Really, so easy to spot rich kids in a crowd. The four kids who are truth seekers are kind of sweet and I found Diana Naaz Khan as Zoya really charming. Shivam Patil as Rohan is very agile and looks kind of cute. These two need a better movie. Everyone is inspired by Sunny Paaji to overact, shout, cry, rant rave and hyperventilate to the edge of reason.Avoid this movie like you would an oncoming cement crusher or prepare to get crushed under the weight of melodrama, boredom and hysteria.

                                                   Risen, also known as Resurrection, is an upcoming American epic historical drama film directed by Kevin Reynolds and written by Reynolds, Paul Aiello and Karen Janszen. The film stars Joseph Fiennes, Tom Felton, Peter Firth, and Cliff Curtis. Columbia Pictures will release the film on February 19, 2016.

                                                  An agnostic Roman Centurion is charged by Pontius Pilate to investigate rumors of a risen Jewish Messiah and to locate Christ's missing body in order to subdue an imminent uprising in Jerusalem. Along Centurion's mission, his doubts of such a supernatural occurrence peel away as he encounters the Apostles and other historic Biblical characters and reviews the events following the Resurrection. 

                                                  Risen is the epic Biblical story of the Resurrection and the weeks that followed, as seen through the eyes of an unbelieving Clavius , a high-ranking Roman Military Tribune. Clavius and his aide Lucius  are instructed by Pontius Pilate to ensure Jesus’ radical followers don’t steal his body and claim resurrection. When the body goes missing within days, Clavius sets out on a mission to locate the missing body in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.

                                                  Apparently actor Cliff Curtis, a Maori from New Zealand, took playing the role of Christ very seriously, including not speaking to Fiennes until they exchanged lines in the script.

                                                 “We didn’t have any communications,” explained Fiennes. “When we finally did meet, and we finally did share eye contact … we’d been filming together for two months. … When that moment happened, we saved it for the camera.”

                                                “Risen” is a fictional take on the Crucifixion and Resurrection, so obviously it’s not perfectly biblical — and there is the problem with the portrayal of Mary Magdalene, although it does form a basis for one of the film’s funnier moments — but it’s a muscular, confident story that manages to make strong points about faith and miracles without ever preaching, getting sentimental or resorting to clichés.

                                                 A lot of the credit goes to Fiennes, who manages to take Clavius from resignation to revelation, without missing a beat. And, of Clavius, Fiennes said, “He can’t go back; he can’t go back. Does he go forward?”

                                                      Bollywood Diaries is about three unrelated individuals – a guy working at a call-center in Delhi, a middle-aged government servant from Bhilai and a prostitute from Sonagachi,Kolkata. All three of them aspire to become Bollywood actors and the movie captures their journey and struggles.

                                                      Principal photography of the film began in October 2014 and the shooting started the month after that.The film was shot in Bhilai, Kolkata and Delhi.
During the filming, Ashish Vidyarthi suffered a mishap when he nearly drowned in river Shivnath before being rescued by a policeman.

                                                      The first trailer of the movie was released on 12 Jan 2016. The movie is scheduled to release on 26 February 2016.
